Sabato 20 Giugno migliaia di noi si sono ritrovati a Ventimiglia per sostenere la lotta dei migranti bloccati sugli scogli tra Italia e Francia.

A due settimane di distanza, che cosa è cambiato?
I riflettori mediatici si sono spenti, la nostra presenza è andata scemando, ma per i ragazzi che proseguono la loro protesta non è cambiato niente, se non il livello di esasperazione. Alcuni si sono spostati al centro, sempre più militarizzato, gestito dalla Croce Rossa vicino alla stazione di Ventimiglia, altri continuano nottetempo a tentare la sorte attraversando la frontiera, risalendo a piedi i binari. Nella maggior parte dei casi vengono ripescati in Francia e ri accompagnati illegalmente al confine dove, dopo un buffo teatrino di rimpallo tra le polizie frontaliere, vengono internati o rilasciati senza soldi né biglietti di viaggio. Non è più possibile che un fenomeno come questo, di lungo corso, venga gestito in modo sistematicamente improvvisato ed emergenziale.
Al momento si profila concreta la possibilità di uno sgombero teso a ridurre al silenzio l’ennesima protesta.
Finché esisteranno dei confini ci saranno dei migranti pronti a sfidarli. In questa lotta per la dignità il Presidio “No borders” ha supportato le istanze politiche di chi indietro non torna. Sgomberare il Presidio non cancellerà il problema, semmai lo allontanerà e per breve tempo da questi scogli. Ma i recinti esistono per essere sfondati e, presto o tardi. La loro determinazione vincerà qualsiasi tentativo di blocco.
Ci rivolgiamo quindi a tutte le realtà affinchè supportino la loro lotta che, giorno dopo giorno, diventa sempre più anche la nostra lotta. Infatti, giorno dopo giorno, migranti e solidali diventano sempre più una cosa sola. Raggiungeteci, qui al confine, a presidiare la determinazione di chi non si ferma all’alt delle autorità. Attivatevi nei vostri territori perchè l’attenzione non scemi e perchè questa lotta politica non venga sgomberata e frammentata solo per renderla meno visbile.
Da qui non c’è ne andiamo, indietro non torniamo!

On saturday 20th o June, We were thouthands to gather in the city of Ventimiglia to support the struggle of the migrants blocked on the rocks between Italy and France.

Since then, what has changed?
Media have gone away and our presence has diminished, but for the protesters, nothing has changed except their level of despair and tiredness imcreasing day by day.
Some of the migrants have moved, pushed by the Italian police and the redcross to do so voluntarily, into the Red Cross temporary reception center next to the Ventimiglia Train Station which is always more controlled and militarized. Some others, every night, attempt to cross the border often putting their life at risk.
Most of the times they get caught sometimes very far from the border in France in situations of clear racial profiling for which France has recently been condemned. Afterwards they are illegally deported to the border again, often without any legal procedure and proof of their passed presence in Italy. After being absurdely bounced and rebounced between the two States, they are eventually jailed or released again at the border, on one side or another. They find themselves lost, without money, without having been given back their train tickets.

Such a long trend phenomenon which reproduce from time to time in the region, as in complete contradiction with the fundamental right of freedom of movement, cannot be handled anymore as a simple emergency and improvised problem.

Until borders will exist, there will be migrants ready to face them. In this struggle for dignity the permanent “no border” camp here has until now supported the struggle of those who “will not go back”. Evicting the camp will not solve the problem: it will only push it away from those rocks, eventually for short time. Nevertheless, borders are made to be overflowded. Soon or later their determination will defeat those attempts of blockade.

As so, We invite all active networks and groups to join us in this camp in order to reinforce the solidarity towars this struggle in which migrants and solidarity movement are becoming more and more only one.
