Da questa mattina è in corso una grande operazione di polizia sulla frontiera italo-francese, con blocchi di polizia su entrambi i lati del confine, il cui scopo è probabilmente difendere la deportazione verso altre città italiane tanto dei migranti respinti dalla Francia, quanto di coloro che sono state vittime dei rastrellamenti di questi ultimi giorni a Ventimiglia. Già nella frazione di Latte, uno degli ultimi centri abitati prima di raggiungere la Francia, è presente un grosso posto di blocco con mezzi di polizia, carabinieri e guardia di finanza che controllano ogni mezzo in direzione del confine. Poco più avanti un paio di pattuglie impediscono a chiunque di raggiungere la frontiera alta di Ponte San Luigi, dove risiede il centro di cooperazione transfrontaliera tra Italia e Francia. Alla frontiera bassa di Ponte San Ludovico la polizia è presente in forze. Stesso scenario sul lato francese, con un grande dispiegamento di uomini e mezzi. Da Menton Garavan è ugualmente impossibile raggiungere la frontiera alta, con i poliziotti francesi che dichiarano che non si può passare perchè c’è in corso un’operazione sul lato italiano.

Questa mattina a Ventimiglia sono stati avvistati due pullman civili che sono poi stati visti in frontiera alta. Una compagna italiana e un compagno francese che cercavano di raggiungere Ponte San Luigi sono stati fermati e trattenuti in caserma per un paio d’ore per impedire di monitorare la natura di questa operazione. Ciò che con molta probabilità sta accadendo è che alle richieste del sindaco Ioculano ed agli annunci del ministro Alfano stiano seguendo le deportazioni tanto dei migranti respinti dalla Francia, quanto di coloro che sono stati vittime dei rastrellamenti di questi ultimi giorni nelle strade di Ventimiglia. Stiamo cercando di entrare in contatto con i migranti detenuti per riuscire a capire quanti sono e dove hanno intenzione di deportarli.

Since this morning, a large police operation has occurred on the Italian-French border. Police blocks have been placed on both sides of the border. Most likely, the purpose of this military operation is to defend the deportations happening there: deportations of, on one hand, the rejected migrants from France, and on the other hand of those people that have been recently victims of raids in Ventimiglia. In the village of Latte, one of nearest village to France, there is a big roadblock by police vehicles, police and financial police who control everyone is heading to the border. Just ahead a couple of patrols prevent anyone from reaching the ‘high border’ – frontier alta – of St. Luigi Bridge, where the center of cross-border cooperation between Italy and France is placed. Reaching the high frontier is equally impossible from Menton Garavan. There you will find the French police claiming that you can not cross the border since, on the Italian side, an operation is taking place.

But two civilian buses were spotted in Ventimiglia and then they were also seen in high frontier this morning. An Italian and a French comrades who tried to reach St. Luigi Bridge were arrested and detained for a couple of hours in order to prevent them to monitor this operation. What is probably happening is that the demands of Mayor Ioculano and of the Minister Alfano have been followed by deportations of both the migrants rejected by France, and also of the people who were victims of raids in recent days in Ventimiglia. We are trying to get in touch with detained migrants to figure out how many they are and where they are going to deport them.
